The footballing gods had been cruel to Hibernian. Beaten in the last minute of the League Cup Final and the last minute of the Play-Off Semi-Final, their fans did not want a hat-trick of last minute woe in the FA Cup Final as the match was balanced at 2-2. But this time fortune really did favour the brave. Leaping forward captain David Gray powered a 92nd minute header into the top corner. Cue ecstatic celebrations as the Hibees lifted the Cup for the first time in 114 years.
